About Me
My name is Stephanie Peyatt, formerly Stephanie Anderson. In May 2014, I graduated West Virginia University with a Bachelor's Degree of Arts in English. At the time, I was planning to attend an MFA program to receive my master's degree in creative writing. When my husband was offered an engineering position with Nebraska Public Power District, I decided to change my plans and relocate with him.
I now live in York, NE with my husband of three years and two children, Landon and Jessilynn. When I am not writing or reading, my hobbies include yoga, scrapbooking, photography, cooking, and playing with my kids.
In college, I focused on creative writing while also dipping my toe in as much professional writing and editing as I could. I am fascinated with all aspects of writing, from grammar rules to the art form surrounding the prose of a poem. I have the organizational mind of an editor while also sporting a mindset for the creative.

My career goal is to pursue a career that utilizes my writing, editing, and communication skill sets. In college, I filled my schedule with writing courses, editing courses, communication courses, and literature courses because I wanted to achieve success in these areas most of all. I feel that I have advanced verbal, nonverbal, and written communication skills. Therefore, I feel that I would excel in a career that requires these skills.
My dream career would be to work for a newspaper or magazine. I have a bit of an obsession with following the news and reading any and all articles I can get my hands on. I like current events and staying in tune with the world, from the recent butterfly take over locally to new research headlining the national news. Establishing roots in a new community has been a challenge, but staying in tune with the community news and events allows my family and I to get involved with the community. This is one reason that journalism especially stands out to me as a career in which I would succeed.
Long term thinking, I hope to pursue publishing a memoir of my childhood growing up in Appalachian West Virginia. Moving to the midwest has opened my eyes on the uniqueness of growing up on a farm in small town West Virginia. Writing is my hobby, my livelihood, and my passion. For now, I hope to secure a position where I can utilize my English degree as much as possible. I worked hard to fine tune my skills as a writer. Therefore, I am eager to dive into this field.
